The Challenge: To create a fictitious university to be used to demonstrate print & AR capabilities to prospective higher education customers.
The Process/Solution: The name was the easiest part--it was a running gag with some of my friends and I when I was in college but fit this application really well. The colors are supposed to be fun and unique. I didn't want to pick a scheme that was in common use.
These are the JTU athletics logos, primary on left, secondary on right. Really played up the fun colors and had a blast making these. Certainly not a common color scheme in college sports.
This is the athletics version of a demo postcard mailer. Again, I used copy.ai to help me generate some body copy. Used a blank helmet image and changed the colors, added stripe, and added the logo in Photoshop. The AR call to action is in the same place, but for this one, it is a 3D skyhawk mascot. I found an animated stock 3D bird that I reskinned for this experience. Direct link to AR: https://arurl.co/7htabs
This is a poster with the football schedule and a different AR experience, a 360° portal from the stadium. Used the same local college and edited the photo in Photoshop to change it to JTU. This was so that we could have a unique experience for athletics (before the 3D mascot demo was created). I played around with the logo in 3D in Photoshop and found a stock image of a football player that I used for the base of a JTU uniform (see the before and after photos below the poster) . I added some metallic to the poster as a test, in some areas it's more pronounced (the big logo, background words on right, and helmet visor) and lighter in other areas (such as the football player's jersey and pants).
The first JTU specialty 5th color metallic effects demo poster I made was when I was on-site for training. The video at the bottom gives an indication of how they actually look on the finished piece.
The last 5th color demo for JTU that I've made is a quick metallic ticket test, loosely based off of the hockey ticket demo that I had made previously. With this one, I wanted to test having a single background that stretches across all of the individual tickets and to have more area use the metallic colors.
